National Outboard Association, NOA. The NORA
was founded with the purpose of conducting and promoting outboard racing
in the Southeast United States. The NORA
has conducted events in
conjunction with festivals, civic groups, charitable organizations and
municipalities. We have conducted races for the Southeast Divisional

Championship and the SST 120 World Championship. We have conducted races
in Augusta, Ga., Clarks
Hill Lake, Ga., Lexington, SC, Beaufort, SC, Georgetown, SC,
Summerville, SC, Hazlehurst, Ga., Kingston, Tn., Prosperity, SC, and
Charleston, SC. The Classes The NORA conducts races with a variety of classes depending on the financial, physical, and time constraints of the site. We conduct races to include the following; SST 120, a premiere tunnel boat class utilizing tunnel hulled boats propelled by 122 cubic inch V-6 Mercury motors at speeds exceeding 110 mph. Formula V, a true V- bottom class this class utilizes a number of different hull sizes and motors to “handicap” the class. 13 to 15 foot v- bottoms are used with Mercury, Johnson, Evinrude, Yamaha, and Suzuki motors all being utilized up to 100 cubic inches. Speeds into the mid to upper 70’s. SST 60: a tunnel hull class with the OMC motors of 56 cubic inches. Speeds to the upper 70’s on the race course. Super Sport: a v-bottom or modified v-bottom boat. This class utilizes stock 150 horsepower, “green” motors. A green motor is one that meets the 2006 EPA emissions regulations. A new class to APBA and NORA speeds to 80 mph.NORA
